Struggling in lockdown

17 July 2020

This season is taking its toll on us as parents. But that doesn't mean we can't still parent for faith.

Many of us are finding lockdown a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions. After nearly four months of being away from church, working from home and home schooling it’s not surprising to feel physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted.

But even when we are struggling, we can parent for faith, because it’s a unique opportunity to help our kids see where God is in all of this. Then when they experience something similar, they will recognise that this is a normal part of journeying with God and will have seen how you dealt with it.

In a recent podcast Rachel answered a question from a listener who is just utterly exhausted, but worried about them impact that is having on her children spiritually, and in another, she talked about how to manage when we – or our kids – are feeling lonely, even in the middle of a crowded home.
