Navigating different churches and Christian experiences with our children

There are multiple scenarios in which we might take a children to a new church or Christian experience - perhaps whilst on holiday, for a family baptism, or attending a Christian festival. How can we ensure that, whether the experience is positive or negative, our children's faith is built as a result?
