Equipping grandparents and grandparent-figures, to share God with the children they love most.
About the Course
Grandparenting for Faith is a six-session course designed for grandparents and grandparent-figures who want to help the children and young people in their lives meet and know God.
It’s full of practical ideas, encouragement and biblical wisdom to help you share faith naturally as part of everyday life.
You can complete the course on your own, with a friend, or as part of a group.
The course is based on the book Grandparenting for Faith by Becky Sedgwick, and was created in partnership with CYM (the Institute for Children, Youth and Mission).
In January we are launching the course as a hybrid opportunity, where you can work through the material at your own pace, and also get the added benefit of meeting with others doing the course for an exclusive chat with the Parenting for Faith team each week to dig further into the content and discuss or ask questions.
Cost: £30/household, or £60 for a church group. (please contact us if this cost would prevent you from taking part).
For churches and leaders
We also offer a single-session version of the course for church leaders or representatives.
This 1.5–2 hour session helps you understand how to equip and empower grandparents and grandparent-figures in your church to play their part in children’s faith development.

If you’re running a grandparenting group or leading a book study using Grandparenting for Faith, we have training videos to help you get started and feel confident in leading discussion and reflection.

By signing up you will get:
- Access to the 6 video sessions which you can watch at a time that suits you (we suggest to watch one a week, but you are welcome to race ahead or even binge them all in one go!)
- Invited with others doing the course to an exclusive chat with the Parenting for Faith team each week, to dig further into the content and discuss or ask questions.
The first online chat will be Tuesday 27th January, on Zoom, where there will be time to get to know others and chat about the grandchildren in your life. We will also be on hand to make sure that you can log in to access the course material and support you with any tech troubleshooting as needed.
Grandparenting for Faith Course at Lee Abbey
Join Becky Sedgwick and Kate Irvine from the Parenting for Faith team as they lead the Grandparenting for Faith course in the wonderful Lee Abbey setting.
Grandparents and grandparent-figures can be hugely influential in the lives of children and young people but most need some confidence, encouragement and tools to reach their full potential. This course, based on the book Grandparenting for Faith by Becky Sedgwick, combines research and tried-and-tested tools to give grandparent figures confidence and skills to nurture faith in children and young people.
The course is aimed at grandparents or grandparent-figures who want to help the children and young people in their life meet and know God.
