The Five Key Tools Course

The Five Key Tools Journey is a guided six-session course for parents and carers, introducing Five Key Tools for helping children and teenagers grow in faith over the Autumn term 2026.

Welcome to the Five Key Tools Course

You’ll discover the Five Key Tools of Parenting for Faith and explore how you can use them with your children and teenagers — whatever their age and the shape or size of your family.

How does it work?

Starting 15 September, a new session will be released every two weeks.
Each session includes:

  • 20-minute teaching video
    Rachel Turner, founder of Parenting for Faith, explains one of the Five Key Tools, with honest reflections and conversation from Anna and Jess, hosts of the Parenting for Faith podcast.
  • 20-minute bonus episode with real families
    Hear from families who have tried the tool for themselves — what they did, what they discovered and what they would say to other parents.
  • Ideas to try
    When each new session is released, you’ll receive an email with the episode and some simple ideas to help you try the tool out in your own family.

Watch it however works for you

There’s no weekly meeting and no need to be online at a particular time.

You can:

  • watch on demand in the BRF Online app or on a browser
  • listen to the audio through your usual podcast app or Spotify
  • watch on your own or with your partner
  • use it as a home group or small group course
  • watch and discuss it with friends or as part of something your church already does

You can start late. You can miss a session. You can come back to it when life allows. There’s no catching up and no falling behind.
And if you want to connect with others doing the course, you can join the wider community on BRF Online or create your own community through your church.

By the end of the journey, you’ll have been introduced to five practical tools that can help you make faith part of ordinary family life. There will be a bonus live Q&A on 8 December where you can ask your questions in advance or watch the recording afterwards.
