The Five Key Tools Journey: FAQs
The Five Key Tools Journey is a six-session course for parents and carers, introducing five practical tools for helping children and teenagers grow in faith.
Here are the answers to some common questions:
What is the Five Key Tools Journey?
It’s a guided way to work through the new Five Key Tools course during Autumn 2026. The course introduces Five Key Tools from Parenting for Faith that can help children and teenagers naturally meet and know God in everyday life.
Starting 15 September, a new 20-minute teaching episode will be released every fortnight. A 20-minute bonus episode featuring real families trying the tools will be released alongside each session. The Journey finishes with a live Q&A on Tuesday 8 December at 8pm. You can submit questions in advance, and the Q&A will be recorded if you can’t join live.

Do I have to watch at a particular time?
No. Everything is on demand.
You can watch the videos in the BRF Online app or on a browser, or listen to the audio through your usual podcast app or Spotify.
You can watch on your own, with your partner, with friends or as part of a church or small group.
Do I have to start on 15 September?
No. You can start whenever you’re ready and either join in where we’re up to or go back and watch previous episodes. If you miss an episode, that’s fine too. You can come back to it when you have time or just move onto the next one.
Can my church or small group do the course together?
Absolutely. Many of us learn best in community with some accountability and space to share our thoughts, ideas and questions. There are lots of flexible ways to do this.
You could use it in a home group or small group, discuss it over coffee, meet online, or build it into something your church already does, such as a Sunday gathering, toddler group, youth group drop off or Bible study.
Or you can simply signpost families to the course and let them work through it individually or as couples.
How do I connect with other people?
Our Five key tools community channel lets you do that!
If you’re not already registered with BRF online you will be asked to download a free bundle. This just gives you access to the community board, there is nothing else to pay or anything else to do.
Then you can comment on individual videos, or contribute to the topic boards in the Community section.
Is the Journey really free?
Yes! To celebrate the launch, it’s completely free until 31 December 2026.
Individuals, couples, churches and groups can all take part during the free launch period.
What happens after 2026?
The free launch period ends on 31 December 2026. After that, the Five Key Tools course will still be available through BRF Online.
You’ll be able to access it through an individual or group BRF Online subscription, or rent the course for £25 for three months.
