Building your child’s confidence in making friends
When we send our children off to school or other groups away from us, we can be anxious about whether they'll make friends. Will they be kind? Will others be kind? What happens if no one speaks to my child? How will they navigate the inevitable friendship fall-outs?
For an episode of the Parenting for Faith podcast, Lucy spoke to Clare Luther, author of Say What?! and numerous children’s books exploring emotions under her publishing banner Head2Heart Books.
Clare spoke from experience as a mum, author and former occupational therapist, sharing how we can become aware of our own anxieties and insecurities surrounding friendship groups, and go to Jesus first with our children’s situations.
She also spoke powerfully about how, even when others are not including or valuing our children, we can ground their identity in Christ.
